Week 2 Assignment- Physical Assessment on Client
Learning Goals
- Assess dietary intake and lifestyle as related to health and well-being.
You will be performing and recording a physical assessment of a client for this assignment. Please review Panopto Student Instructions for assistance on recording and uploading your videos. Please read them carefully and rehearse the assessment a few times before you record. Use the grading criteria listed below to guide you as to what assessments should be performed.
Make sure you explain to your "client" why you are doing each measurement and what the results mean. This will put the client at ease and give you credibility.
Do not start this too late in the week. Record a bit, then watch it back to assure you and the client are always in the field of view, and sound quality is clear. If you confirmed this, then you may record the visit and upload.
Do not wait till Sunday night for this, because of upload times. Average time for this video is about 10-20 minutes tops. You will be penalized if it goes over 20 minutes.
Many do get nervous for the camera, it's a natural feeling. However, just pretend it's you and the client, and it is your opportunity to show off your knowledge, and techniques.

(I am always looking for an organized and thorough physical assessment. This can make or break the relationship you have with your client. They will leave your office either saying, " wow, he/she was very thorough" , or " wow, i had no idea, there were so many things about my body that were related to nutrition") |
